Menu:  Edit Tributary

Edit all input data for a specific tributary.

Inputs are organized in two categories: Monitored Inputs & Land Uses. These are accessed by clicking the corresponding tabs on the upper portion of the edit window.

Select the tributary to be edited from the drop-down menu.  The buttons at the top of the screen provide further editing functions.

The current tributary list and segment assignments can be checked by clicking the 'List' button on the edit screen or the List Segment Network item on the main menu.

Edit tributary names, corresponding segments,  types, flows, drainage areas, & flow-weighted concentrations.

FLUX software ( Walker, 1999; Chapter 2 ) can be used to estimate concentrations and CV's based upon monitoring data from each tributary.

Required inputs include the associated model segment, flow, & total P concentration.  Requirements for other inputs depend upon the selected model options .

Tributary flow rates specified on input screens are expressed in units of million cubic meters per year (hm3/yr). These are MEAN FLOW RATES during the AVERAGING PERIOD  (not TOTAL FLOW VOLUMES)!!!  Special care should be taken in specifying tributary flow rates when the AVERAGING PERIOD does not equal 1 year. Suppose, for example, that the AVERAGING PERIOD is April thru September (= 0.5 years) and that a gauged total inflow volume for a given tributary during this period is 40 hm3 (= million cubic meters). The value specified on the tributary input screen in this case should be 80 hm3/yr= ( 40 hm3 / .5 years)

Drainage areas are required on the "Land Uses" tab if the tributary is classified as a non-point source ( Type = 2 ) on the "Monitored Inputs" tab.  The land use categories & corresponding export coefficients are specified using the Edit Export Coefficients  procedure.  The sum of drainage areas in each land use should equal the total drainage area specified on the Monitored Inputs tab.

Up to 100 tributaries can be defined.
