Segment Morphometry

Surface area, mean depth, mixed layer depth, and length should correspond to the average pool elevation during the period being simulated.

Positive values for surface area, mean depth, and length must be specified.

If the input mixed layer depth = 0, it is estimated from mean depth using a regression equation developed from CE reservoir data.

Mean hypolimnetic depth should refer to late spring or early summer conditions, after onset of stratification. This is optional and used only in calculating oxygen depletion rates.

The Segment Length is the distance along major flow axis (km).

Used in estimating diffusive exchange rates (longitudinal dispersion) with downstream segments.

The length has no effect in the last reservoir segment (furthest downstream, Outflow Segment Number = 0) or in cases containing only one reservoir segment.
