Minimum Overflow Rate
 
Nutrient sedimentation models 1-2 for Phosphorus and Nitrogen were developed from a data set of CE reservoirs. The minimum surface overflow rate (QS) in this data set was 4 m/yr . 
 
Application to a reservoir with a QS value less than 4 m/yr  would constitute an extrapolation of the models beyond the range of the data set used in model development.  Limited testing of the models against data from other lakes & reservoirs with QX values < 4 m/yr has been conducted.
 
The MINIMUM QS value is the lowest overflow rate used in computing nutrient sedimentation coefficients.
 
 = 4.0 to limit range of application to CE data set (default)
 
 = 0.0 to allow extrapolation beyond range of data set
