Storing Batch
Output
The load calculation and time series analysis procedures can
be run automatically in sequence for combinations of sites and variables
('Batch'). Sites and variables are selected on the index sheets of each
workbook.
Batch runs can produce large volumes of output that is
unsuitable for printing. Output is archived in disk files that can later
be accessed using the
output viewer utility or one of the other methods described below.
The files and viewer utility could be attached as appendices to lake
monitoring reports.
Output tables and chart pages from batch
runs can be automatically copied to a separate workbook for archiving by
clicking the 'Copy Batch Output'
button.
Graphic output from batch runs can be stored as 'snapshot'
files in GIF format by checking the 'Publish Batch Output' box on the
menu screens. The
user specifies the folder for storing the output. This must be a
subdirectory of the database folder. If the subdirectory does not exist,
it is automatically created. Any existing files in the directory
are overwritten. Do not use any of the subfolders that came with the
database (web/output). GIF files can be readily copied and pasted
into reports.
Retrieving Batch
Output
Another excel workbook (view_output.xls) facilities
review of batch results. The user selects the folder, site, variable, and category of
output, then clicks to view the requested page. The
image is copied to a separate page of the workbook. Not all
combinations are valid (e.g., load calculations & temperature). Error messages will appear
in such cases.
The image catalogue can also be viewed directly from windows explorer. Migrate to one of the database/web/output subfolders and use the 'thumbnail' view.
