Calibration Factors
Calibration Factors provide
means for adjusting model predictions to account for site-specific
conditions. These modify the coefficients of the empirical models
originally calibrated to the CE reservoir data set. They normally =
1.0 and
should be modified only with extreme caution & site-specific
data.
Calibration Factors are of two
types:
1.Global - apply to all segments - 'Edit Model Coefficients' screen
2 Local - apply to
each segment separately - 'Edit
Segments'
screen
For each segment and variable,
the product of the Global calibration factor & Local calibration factors is
multiplied by the model prediction. Factors are available for: Exchange
Rates (Dispersion), Phosphorus, Nitrogen, Mean Chl-a, Transparency, &
Oxygen Depletion. Values for P & N are applied either to sedimentation
rates or to predicted concentrations, depending upon option
settings.
See additional discussions in the model overview & application scenarios sections.
