Define additional transport channels linking any pair of segments (optional).

Normally, each segment discharges either to another downstream segment or out of the reservoir, as specified on the Edit Segments screen.   This allows specification of a one-dimensional, branched transport network which is sufficient in most cases.

Channels can be used to specify additional advective flow and diffusive exchange between any pair of segments in situations where a two-dimensional network is appropriate (i.e., where a given segment discharges to or exchanges flows with two or more other segments). 

The advective and exchange flows must be estimated independently.

The water-balance and mass-balance solutions are modified to account for these additional transport terms. 

Up to 10 channels can be defined for any case.
