Menu:  Edit Segments

Edit all input data for a specific segment.

Inputs are organized in four categories: Morphometry , Observed Water Quality, Calibration Factors, Internal Loads .  These are accessed by clicking the corresponding tabs on the upper portion of the edit window.

Select the segment to be edited from the drop-down menu in the upper left corner. The buttons at the top of the screen provide further editing functions.

Required inputs on the Morphometry page include:  Segment Name, Outflow Segment, Segment Group, Surface Area, Mean Depth, & Length .  An entry of 0 will indicate a missing value.  Positive values must be specified for Area, Mean Depth & Length.

An estimate for Mixed Layer Depth (required for Chlorophyll-a Models 1 & 2) is shown below the data entry box.  This can be used if a direct estimate is not available.

The Hypolimnetic Depth is required only if estimates of hypolimnetic & oxygen depletion rates are desired.

Observed water quality data should reflect the upper mixed layer (except for oxygen depletion rates) and growing season. They are optional. An entry of 0 indicates a missing value.

An entry for non-algal turbidity is required if Chlorophyll-a Models 1 & 2 are used.  An estimate based upon the observed chlorophyll-a & secchi values is shown below the data entry box.

Calibration factors  normally = 1.0.   These are applied to the predicted sedimentation rates for nutrients and predicted concentrations for each trophic response variable in each segment.

Up to 50 model segments can be defined.  Buttons at the top of the edit screen can be used to add, insert, or delete a segment from the current case.   If a segment is deleted or inserted, the remaining segments are renumbered & tributary segment references are updated.  The updated configuration can be checked by clicking the 'List' button on the edit screen or the List Segment Network item on the main menu.
